For those of you who are doing NaNoWriMo this November:
If you celebrate Halloween at all and you have kids- confiscate some of their candy! Trust me- you’ll need it!
For the rest of us- the candy should be marked half price on Sunday. Stock up!

inIn case you didn’t know- Yarnology is one of Hobby Lobby’s “house brands”. A house brand is a line of products exclusive to that particular store (or chain of stores). Like Kroger’s Private Selection brand, or Wal-Mart’s Great Value or Member’s Mark brands. Most chain stores have their own house brands. They’re actually called private label brands, but I like the term “house brand” better. It’s like when you go into a bar, and
they have their own “house brand” of liquors. It’s usually the cheap stuff, but sometimes it is better than the name brand stuff.

inSo things are going to be a little different in November.
Since I do Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) every November, my primary focus will be to write like a madwoman until the end of the month (or until I reach 50,000 words), whichever comes first.
So WIP Monday will probably change to Word Count Monday.

Here are the rules of the 7-7-7 Challenge:
Go to the 7th page of your work in progress. Find the 7th sentence on that page, then paste the following 7 sentences into your blog post. Finally, select 7 other writers for the challenge. It does not have to be fiction, I am interested in reading anything you’ve got!
I don’t have a current novel, as I am anxiously awaiting the start of NaNoWriMo. So I chose a previous NaNo novel at random, and here is my excerpt from the 7th page of Deathbringer:
“Eli. Seriously. This goes deeper than just Warwick. Everyone is gunning for me. Vampires, werewolves… probably even leprechauns. I’m taking a huge risk just letting YOU in here.”
“Leprechauns exist?”
“FOCUS, Eli. They—“ she stopped, and her eyes lit up like she had an idea. She disappeared into her bedroom for a few minutes, returning with a wand-like thing, which she started waving over me.
“Okay, Miss Airport Security- I do not have any bombs on me.”
“Which is fine, because I’m not looking for bombs.” She said as she travelled down my body with the wand thing. Once done- she proceeded to check the room.
“Okay. Then what ARE you looking for?”
“Bugs. Electronic eavesdropping devices. Just because they are following you, doesn’t mean they aren’t using other means to track or listen to us.”
I was nominated by the lovely afthead. Unfortunately- I don’t actually have any nominees; as most of my blogging friends have either already been recently nominated, OR aren’t novelists. (I was about to say they aren’t writers, but to blog is to write. So they aren’t as wordy as some of the rest of us! *wink*) But- if you’re reading this and want to participate- consider yourself nominated! I’d love to read your excerpts!

inI’m headed to a hockey game on Saturday, and I need to plan out my hockey knitting. The stipulations are that I must bring non-metal needles. Nothing else will pass through the metal detectors.

1. Dangercraft Swap Monster
Didn’t get much done on this one as I would have liked. It was family weekend, and they kind of like for you to pay attention to THEM, instead of counting stitches and rows. But I only have _____ and ____ left, and then it can wing it’s way to my swap partner. So that will be Wednesday at the latest.
At any rate- I can’t show you pictures until I know my partner has received it.

This past Friday- I received a box from Knit Picks. For the life of me- I couldn’t remember ordering anything. This probably because I am used to 2 business days as a turnaround time for KP, and apparently anything more than that and I forget it exists.
