What’s on my needles:

1. Mystery Birthday project (80% done)
I’m sooo excited about this. I hope she will like it. I’ll give you a sneak peak once it’s finished. And then when the recipient gets it- I’ll show you the whole thing.

 

 
2. Hubby Socks

Still not finished. Poor Hubby.

 
3. Flax Sweater

This one will go into hibernation soon. I have to start on my homework for my Stitches South classes, so I want to finish Hubby’s socks before I go back to working on this one.

R.I.P. Frank Kelly

Sad news, Father Ted fans- we lost another one yesterday.

Frank Kelly (Father Jack Hackett) died yesterday, February 28th.
He had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
That’s 18 years to the day, after Dermot Morgan.

Do you think Dougal is bumping them off, one by one? Or is it Mrs. Doyle?

Knitter Wants

A primer on pockets. I want to know all the different kinds and how to knit each.

A primer on collars. Preferrably ones that can easily be integrated into Top-Down Knitting, but I am not adverse to Pick Up And Knit collars…

Accountability

I’ve seen some other blogs doing this, so I thought I will start.
Mainly just to keep my hobby lifestyle somewhat under control.

 
For January

I bought 8 skeins of yarn, 6 skeins of Red Heart Soft at $5.54 per skein and two skeins of ILTY at $3.66 per skein.  Also bought two books at $6.99 and $9.99 respectively. And a knitting bag at $0.99. (Yes- I’m including every knitting-related expense, even if it’s just a notebook or highlighter pen.)

On the needles:

 

1. Flax sweater

I’m currently 12.5 inches from cast on. I’m cautiously LOVING top-down sweaters. LOVING THEM. Seriously- the separation of sleeves from the body is GENIUS, and eliminates the concerns I have with bottom-up sweaters. (You know the whole having to attach sleeves, and the horror stories I’ve heard about having gaps and holes, and extra fabric bunching up at the join…)

I would be farther along, but yesterday’s knitting session was cut short by a bout of food poisoning. Nothing too graphic, just a lot of misery. Today continues the misery, but the stomach cramps have stopped, so at least I can start knitting again.

2. Hubby socks

Yep, still not finished. 🙂

 

3. Dad’s blanket

I will probably switch to this being my main project, as my dad’s birthday is only 19 days away.
