Stash reduction (Everything must go!)

I find it hilarious that at the moment I start talking about reducing my stash- everyone else talks about enhancing it. All my favorite places are offering 30-40% off of things… buy a certain amount and get free yarn… I THINK this is the ‘get in gear for Christmas‘ push, but I’m amused at the timing.

WE HAVE NO SPACE!!!!

We just moved and WE HAVE NO SPACE. We moved from a 1 bedroom. 641 square feet, to a 2 bedroom with 838 square feet. It’s pretty much the same total square footage (plus another bedroom and bathroom), but it’s more annoyingly laid out.

Apparently- I am NOT a selfish knitter.

So. Wandering around the Ravelry forums- giving my two cents where I feel like it- I came to a realization: I am NOT a selfish knitter.

Useful apps for your Android device

I’ve been thinking about this for a few days, and decided to make a post about it. Smartphone apps I find useful. I know there are a ton of really useful apps out there, but some are only available for iPhones. And I am an Android user.

So here’s a list of the apps I find useful. You can find each of these in the Google Play Store.  (And no- you won’t find any games here. While I do play them- they don’t particularly make life any easier.)

Yeah… most of these are packed away, because we just moved.

… And we stashed all the boxes and bins in Daddy’s room, because he’s currently in rehab for the neuropathy in his feet. BUT- the tentative release date is the end of the month- so we have to find some place for all the boxes.

A Divided Nation

I waffled for many days about writing this post. I try to stay away from politics and Hot Button issues… and also deeply personal things, but I can’t stay silent. The more people who stay silent- the more things like this will continue to happen. Although it seems to happen overwhelmingly to people of color- this is a people issue. And until we do something to change our collective mindset- it will continue to happen.

-I’ve read this one before, but it’s been a while. And since I want to move onto the second book, I thought I should go back and reread, so I know what’s going on.
